Interview in Thin Reads

Have you heard of Thin Reads? It’s a site devoted specifically to E-book shorts (or, in their words, “weighty content that’s not too long.”) Howard Polskin, the site’s founder, recently interviewed me about “For the Public Good,” and the interview is up today. I talk about my motivations for researching the story, the process of reporting it (and trying to find new territory after the Winston Salem-Journal‘s terrific series), and various other things like epigenetics, assisted reproduction, and post-traumatic growth. You can read it here. If you’re a journalist (or an avid reader of longform journalism), Thin Reads is a great place to learn about new E-books shorts or about the genre in general.

In related news, Mediabistro just published a piece about The New New South, including an interview with editor Andrew Park.

(That’s Annie Buelin, above, with her sweet dog.)
